With the credit union philosophy of "people helping people" in mind, RCU participates in a number of programs to help our local communities.
Team "Reddy for a Cure" participated in the Windsor Relay for Life Benefiting the American Cancer Society, and raised over $800!
RCU Supported the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by participating in the San Francisco AIDS Walk. RCU volunteers walked, ran, and raised over $1,600 for this special non-profit.

RCU employees raised over $1,100 funds in support of cancer research and prevention at this year’ Rohnert Park Relay for Life.
RCU was proud to support “A Walk In The Park” to celebrates the courage of children living with all forms of cancer. All proceeds from this event benefit Cure Kids Cancer and directly support local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Through individual donations and encouragement of our local communities to donate at RCU’s week long Blood Drive brought in 181 donors for a total of 147 units collected!That's a potential 441 lives saved because of our efforts!
RCU staff and Officials were excited to fundraise for local nonprofits and participate in three Human Race efforts. In total, RCU supported these efforts with over $10,500!

In an effort to raise awareness and prevention of heart disease, RCU proudly supported the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Lunch.

In preparation for the upcoming Bowl for Kids Sake activities, RCU supported the Rohnert Park and San Rafael Kick-Off events.
RCU volunteers planted native trees and shrubs in the Santa Rosa Wetlands at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation’s Tree-A-Thon. Over 850 trees were planted that day.

RCU proudly supports the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin’s Heart of Marin Awards, and outstanding Marin nonprofits, leaders, and volunteers.

RCU volunteers assisted the Salvation Army distribute food and gift donations to local families. Many of these donations came straight from our Members and employees. In total, the Salvation Army assisted over 7,000 people.


RCU proudly supports Sonoma County’s Secret Santa program as a corporate sponsor and volunteer supporter. On December 19, 2010, RCU volunteers spent the day wrapping gifts that were later distributed to children in Sonoma County.
RCU volunteers rang the Salvation Army kettle bell all day on Saturday, December 19 in an effort to support families during the holidays. In total, RCU raised $510!
Thank you RCU Food and Gift Drive supporters! All toy and non-perishable food donations made it to our local non-profits in time for the holidays. Your support benefitted many families in need during the 2009 holiday season. We are grateful for your commitment to our communities.
The employees and Officials of Redwood Credit Union are proud to support United Way with an annual employee giving campaign and participation in the United Way Day of Caring effort in 3 Counties. In 2009, RCU employees donated over $75,000 to United Way to assist local non-profits, and in 2008 RCU was recognized with United Way of the Wine Country’s prestigious “Spirit of the Wine Country” award.

Redwood Credit Union (RCU) is proud to support Children’s Miracle Network (CMN), whose mission is to generate funds and awareness programs in partnership with and for the benefit of member hospitals/foundations and the children they are privileged to serve. RCU’s President & CEO, Brett Martinez, has been instrumental in raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network through his service on the Credit Unions for Kids National Advisory Board and as the Chair of the 4th Annual CU for Kids Wine Auction, which raised over $175,000 for 11 Children’s Miracle Network affiliated hospitals in California and Nevada. CMN funds are distributed locally to the Oakland Children’s Hospital, where North Bay and Greater Bay Area children are treated for a variety of medical conditions and have access to a regional pediatric medical center with specialized staff and facilities able to treat rare illnesses and health problems.

RCU’s 15 full service branch locations celebrated International Credit Union Week with an ICU Week tabletop complete with giveaways, raffle, coloring contest for the kids, educational material and more!


RCU volunteers set up camp at Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa, and Casa Grande High School in Petaluma to participate in this 24-hour event raising money and awareness for cancer research.


RCU was happy to hold its 3rd Annual Shred-A-Thon and invited Members and non-Members to shred their sensitive information while learning about the latest trends in identity theft through a free onsite seminar. In total, RCU assisted over 560 attendees shred well over 7 tons of sensitive information (the equivalent of saving 74 full grown trees).


The Human Race is an event that raises money for a variety of local non-profits. RCU Participated in 3 Counties – Sonoma, Marin, and Mendocino, raising over $3,700 for our local non-profits!

For 28 years, Petaluma has celebrated its rich agricultural roots with a festive parade focusing on the poultry and dairy industries that made Petaluma the 6th largest city in the state a century ago. This year’s parade theme was “Recycle, Re-Use & Remember” to honor the town’s traditions of turning chicken coops into art studios and grain mills into offices, and to focus on the community’s passion for recycling, re-using and taking care of the environment that has taken such good care of us.
